Google’s YouTube Music app for Wear OS only works with Samsung’s upcoming smartwatches

Google Youtube music application for OS Wear now lives, a few months after the technology giant promises to release one for a platform. It sounds like great news for users who have been waiting after Google retired music to use the OS in 2020. The bad news is, as noted by 9To5Google, currently only works on the Google 3 Wear OS platform. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic WeaTables, which will be available on August 27, will be the only device that will run the OS in the future.

The company killed the Play Music application for Wear OS Watches back in August 2020, a few weeks before it really closed the service in supporting Youtube music. Quickly released the YouTube music application for Apple Watch, but using OS users must wait for their turn. And, based on what we know now, they might have to keep waiting, unless they are ready to get a new Samsung smartwatch tomorrow. In comparison, the Spotify Wear OS application works even on longer watches and can be used to stream and download music.

In addition to very limited compatibility, the application cannot be used to drain music. According to a direct 9to5Google experience, users will only be able to download tracks on the application. Next, the phone must be plugged into can download anything. For those who are not disturbed by all the limitations and will soon have access to the Galaxy Watch 4, this application is now available on Google Play.
