Intel Core i9-12900K benchmark could be most worrying Alder Lake leak for AMD yet

Intel Core i9-12900k has been seen in the Benchmark Alder Lake that leaked, and this one could be a real worries for AMD.

The productive hardware leaker tum_apis found the results of geekbench 5 and posted it on Twitter (visible by videocardz).

Core i9-12900k managed to record the core results of 1.893, with a score of 17,299 for multi-core. Remember, this is an 8-core CPU with 8 core more power saving (to make a total 24-utas). The basic clock is read as 3.2GHz, but of course this is a pre-released sample chip, so take it carefully – indeed, boost hours are not even recorded correctly here (Note that the clock will be different between the two types. Core, but The full power is expected to turbo up to 5.3GHz or its surroundings).

If we compare these scores with the current I9-11900K superior core for Lake Rocket, we see that the successor of Alder Lake is a faster touch in a single core (2%) but very quickly when it comes to multi-core – to a 57% tone .

In front of AMD, compare with Ryzen 9 5950x, 12900K comfortably defeating the flagship Red team of 12%, and defeating it in multi-core, although with a small margin of 3.5%.

Analysis: Night without sleep for AMD engineers?

Naturally, we must be careful around any leak, so it involves skeptical mode like before with rumors of Mill, but taking this at a nominal value, it seems to be an impressive show for the Intel sample chip.

What is very interesting here is that the benchmarks are run on the PC test platform with Windows 11 Pro installed, so this means Microsoft adjustment efforts from the entry OS must be seen here – with the Hardware Hardware Built-in Alder Lake (UTAS) Director) Work together with Windows 11 thread scheduler, in theory.

It can help lift numbers, and remember, this is a sample chip, so the final core i9-12900k must be faster – plus the Windows 11 release version must be better set for Alder Lake. This is a tempting prospect, and who might worry about AMD, especially considering that this is not a very serious leaky benchmark for superior Alder Lake. We also watched 12900K comfortably get better than Ryzen 5950x at Cinebench R20, a 26% win in one core, and 11% in multi-core.

Obviously, we should not be carried away from leaks, but so far they seem to build a convincing picture of a big step forward for Intel – which will ultimately be good for the entire level of competition in the CPU Sphere desktop.
