Report claims Google is abandoning Qualcomm modem chipset for the Pixel 6

When it comes to chips for mobile devices, many of the most popular smartphones in the Android scope use Qualcomm chips. The Snapdagon line is the most common hardware in the market, running the range from the entry level to high-end hardware. A new report is spinning, Google is leaving the Chipset Modem Qualcomm for your Pixel 6 smartphone.

Instead of Craming the Qualcomm Snapdragon hardware under the hood of the Android smartphone, Google is embracing Samsung. According to the rumor, Google is looking to use the Samsung Exynos 5123 5G modem within the pixel 6. This marks a significant change for Google that has always used Qualcomm products in the past.

It also emphasizes that the main technology companies in the US. UU seek to end your dependence on a Qualcomm for hardware within your devices. The EXYNOS MODEM 5123 supports the 6GHZ wave and up to 256 Qam millimeter for uplink and downlink. When making this change, assuming that rumors are true, pixel 6 will be the first device in the US. UU that does not use a Qualcomm modem.

Interestingly, Samsung has used his own Exynos hardware on his Galaxy smartphone line outside the US. UU., But he has not used his own Modem hardware. Smart phone manufacturers in the states have been based on Qualcomm modems exclusively because there was no 5G modem technology at the available pair of other manufacturers.

That seems to be changing with Exynos 5123. If this rumor is or not, it remains precise to be seen. There must be at least some chance that Google is doing this movement, not because he wants, but, due to the global shortage of chips. Certainly, it is possible that, since Samsung products are less popular, they are more available. It is also worth noting that rumors have so far suggested by pixel 6 will also use Samsung hardware for the screen, camera and processor. To be clear, the SOC itself was designed by Google, but it is built by Samsung.
