India eases drone policy making way for Air Taxis
The Government of India has adopted the new Drone policy in India called Responsible Drone 2021 – These new rules appropriately replace the previous law called Regulation 2021 without a pilot of aircraft.
Under the new policy, the Indian government is not just that consumers buy and operate drones in the country, but also highlights the licensing process. The policy also allows drones to transport heavier useful loads – which in turn makes air taxis in India.
“Air taxis are being searched and invented around the world and many startups to come. This time is not far when taxis, like Uber, etc. that you see on the roads, you See in the air under the drone’s policy. I think that’s very possible, “said Civil Aviation Aviation Civil Minister,” said Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Schedia believes that since India has more than 200 startups in its drone ecosystem, the new drone policy will only have these companies taking their products at the next level and it is certain that it could pave a means of Arial transport without a pilot.
The government sees drone’s aviation as an industry that could offer a job and help strengthen economic growth. Conditional authorization has already been granted to 10 organizations, including Mahindra and Mahindra, India Steel Authority (SAIL) and Bayer Crop Science, to use diverse drones for a year.
The government has also announced that drone corridors will be developed to help set deliveries of goods. The application process and obtaining a pilot license via the Digital SKY platform have also been simplified. The government has the Digital Sky platform should be developed as a user-friendly single window system to eliminate all roadblocks.
The operation and acquisition of nano and micro drones become easier
Although drones were used in a terrorist attack in an air facility in Jammu and Kashmir, the process of acquiring and using Micro and Nano Drones have been considerably relaxed.
For recording, nano drones are those that are less than or equal to 250 grams, while micro-drones weigh between 250 grams at 2 kg. This means that the exploitation of a drone for Ariel’s photography will become easier than ever before.
Relaxations in local manufacturing and imports of drones will also mean that drones in India will become cheaper and affordable. Unlike flying micro-drones (for non-commercial use) and Nano drones will not require driver license.
In addition, operating drones in green areas will not require any authorization. It literally means that a vertical limit of up to 400 meters is available for micro and nano drones. If the zone falls under a red zone or a yellow zone in the airspace map, the limit drops to 120 meters. In addition, the yellow area has also been reduced to 12 km 45 km from the perimeter of the airport.
