DokeV trailer, news and what we know so far

Dokev is of course one of the more interesting games displayed in the live showcase night gamescom 2021. The Geoff Keighley-LED event reveals many of our games are now very excited, but Dokev leaves us the same part of confusion and interested.

Dokev is being developed by Pearl Abyss, perhaps best known as the Creator of Popular MMO Black Desert Online. This game is set to be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S console.

But while the game is set in a fantasy world that is rather grounded, Dokev is across the pole. Featuring children in skateboard, strange creatures and K-Pop injection, Dokev looks like a fusion of Pokémon and Jet Set radio. And if it’s not a winning combination, we don’t know what it is.

The details are thin on the ground for now, but we will maintain the development of DOKEV, and we will consistently update this page when new info released on this strange new adventure. Want to learn more about Dokev? Read on to learn everything we know so far.

GamesCom 2021 is actually not the first time Dokev is made alone in the world. Pearl Abyss announced the game back in 2019 with a beautiful little CG trailer. If you are excited for the game, consider additional recording steps when you look forward to more info.

Dokev initially billed as the title of MMO (Multiplayer Online) when it was announced in 2019. However, the plan seems to have changed in ABYSS Mutiara, with developers shifting from MMO format to more traditional action adventures.

This shift from MMO format has been quite divisive in a tweet reply. MMO aspects are the most looking forward. Others feel like a more focused approach can lead to better and more polished games.

If you want our two cents, the MMO room is very competitive. So much so it’s really difficult for MMO to get a lasting foothold in space. With the Giants genre like World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy 14 and the new world that will come on the block, every new MMO starter will be seriously impressive to make a name for himself in space.

DOVEV shifting to “Open World Action Adventure” is probably a good thing for long life games. This is no longer competitive to be considered between other MMO titans, and is free to be a thing yourself without prejudice genre.

Gather creatures?

Note the emphasis on “collecting creatures” in the tweets above. As seen in the trailer, there are all kinds of strange creatures and extraordinary designed that will help you in battle.

According to the official website, these creatures are known as Dokebi, and strange designs range from alarm clocks with headphones on (yes, really) to hybrid bear panda / poles wear a pair of boxing gloves. So the design of the top character, basically.

Judging from the trailer, Dokebi looks stored in a small prismatic disc, and can be released during battle meetings. Each seen has their own abilities that will help you in a different way, so we imagine choosing the right Jokebi for the job will often be the key to success.

Traversal.

We see a number of traversal options that vary greatly at the DOKEV trailer. Your character can move on foot, as expected, but also on hoverboard, bicycles and even cars. You can also soar by air, fortnite style, through a parasol that can be used, which we imagine will be useful to get to a certain place on the map quickly.

Multiplayer?

Given the shift from the MMO genre, it remains in the air whether DOkev will display multiplayer components in any form. The trailer seems to imply that we can still hang out with friends in limited capacity, but we will not know for sure until more details released.
