Audio-Technica’s latest budget headphones look decent for $59 cans
Audio-Technica has pulled back the curtain on the latest budget headphones. ATH-S220BT $ 59 offers a series of decent features for the price, including battery life that offers use of up to 60 hours on one charge, according to the company. You will be able to add time listening up to 3.5 hours with only 10 minutes USB-C charging, audio-technica said.
Bluetooth 5.0 headphones have 40mm drivers, which, audio-technica claims, provide low latency audio. You can also connect it using a 3.5mm cable that is included, which has a microphone and in-line control.
ATH-S220BT can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously for fast switching between tasks. There is a built-in microphone, Earcup control and Google Fast pair support for Android devices. Along with Siri and the compatibility of Google’s assistants, there is a “voice guide” function, which can provide info on the current battery level, installation status, and others.
Even though headphones do not have upscale features such as active noise cancellation, they seem to be worth to be seen if you are on the market for a budget set, even if the audio quality turns out to be fine (audio-technica says they give “exceptional sound quality “). They are light too, only 6.3 ounces or 180 grams.
ATH-S220BT is available now in a number of color options. You can take it with black with a dark gray accent, a navy with cream ears and head or white with a black trim.
