Pixel 6 under-display fingerprint scanner seemingly confirmed by Google exec

While the release of Google Pixel 5A is still fresh in our memories, leakage for the upcoming giant giant handset – Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro – continue to excit the technology community.

Previously in the year we reported Android 12 Beta could potentially divulge the fingerprint scanner below the 6 pixel screen, and now we see rumors given further weight by Google itself.

As seen by Mishaal Rahman from Xda Devlopers, a tweet posted by Hiroshi Lockheimer (Google Senior Vice President for Android) showed off screenshots that are likely to come from the Pixel 6 Pro which displays a prominent fingerprint icon.

Hiroshi Lockheimer Apparently posted (and then removed) screenshot from what might be pixel 6 pro (image resolution is 1440×3200.) The phone is connected to Verizon 5G, the possibility of a sub-6GHz carrier network. Also shown is the position of UDFPS.H / T @ jspring86az pic.twitter.com/pressh7rvnvnugust 24, 2021

Tweet Lockheimer is intended to show off the refresh of your Android ‘material to arrive with Android 12, but it quickly removes it, maybe because of the hidden (and non-hidden) details contained.

The fingerprint icon of course implies the scanner in the display, and image resolution 1440 x 3200, in relation to Google-style icons and the fact that the device runs Android 12 Beta, is very pointing to the Pixel 6 Pro.

As indicated by 9to5Google, compatibility of this feature and Android 12 Beta is not necessarily unique – it can be Xiaomi MI 11 Ultra, Oneplus 9 Pro, or Oppo Find X3 Pro, even though their scanner’s position is different from the image – but with tweets quickly removed after posting , His suspicion is valid.

As we mentioned, there are bottom screen scanner instructions found on Android 12 Beta, and Google has released an official image of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which does not have a fingerprint scanner feature behind them as with previous iterations.

Although none of this explicitly confirms the technology feature on the upcoming Google superior, the combination of leaks and observations certainly makes it look possible.

Analysis: Returns Featured to Port

With pixel 5 years ago, Google slapped the trend offering a very premium and expensive superior experience in the primary lineup, instead of choosing several intermediate concessions to reduce device costs.

Personally, I celebrate the step, find pixels 5 to offer the perfect balance of usability, simplicity, affordability and power where it is calculated – camera, battery life, daily performance, and durable design. By doing that, it shaves most of the addition of luxuries that tend to come ‘standard’ in superior devices.

With pixel 6 and 6 pro, it looks more likely that Google returns to the convenience of previous strategies, and most of the industry, by releasing two cellphones that might be expensive and somewhat similar to tweaks to display size, camera capabilities, battery size and maybe upgrade RAM.

If the under-Display fingerprint scanner is indeed set to features on the new pixel, it will be one of the additional luxury mentioned above where the cost of implementing the technology is not married to the benefits given to users.

In addition, moving to the front screen scanner that is facing forward will mean the loss of a smart Google’s ability that allows you to attract your notification bar by swiping your finger in the rear scanner – surprisingly useful for one-hand operation.

On the other hand, there are several benefits to have a bottom screen scanner. For one, it offers an opportunity for ultrasonic sensors, which provide extra security by basically using ultrasound technology to create more accurate 3D maps from your fingerprints, as opposed to longer optical scanners that only take 2D images that are flat.

It will also make the back of the handset slimmer (although it is rarely relevant hidden in a case), and gives users the ability to unlock thecellphone when lying on the surface, which is certainly useful.

However, this journalist hopes that Google will continue on the lane that starts with Pixel 5, gives users the superior experience in an affordable package without weight attached from several higher models in the product lineup that makes the experience lower. Maybe n
