LG Tone Free FP8 True Wireless Earbuds review
One minute review
In his initial offer to make a pair of true wireless earbuds that won awards, LG did not have much success – HBS-FN6 last year did not really establish a burning world with their pioneering UVNANO technology and their audio reproduction, well, not upscale.
Since then, LG returns to the image board and has emerged with the new FP8 LG new tone which is the rival of the original Apple Airpods and Sony WF-1000xm4 which offers active noise cancellation, APTX support for Android and improved sound quality. This is a pair of true wireless earbuds that are significantly than we see a year ago.
After testing it for a month, we have plenty of time spent with them and while they don’t take all our tests – especially before we apply the latest software updates – we can safely say that LG sends high-quality buds at a lower price point From Sony and Apple, even if they can’t greet them in the overall performance.
While we still recommend earbud recatquency of class-leading noise on the free LG FRP8 tone, the latest LG wireless buds are a good alternative with a slightly lower price, and is a good choice if you find newly cleaned ideas. Interesting principle.
Price and release date
FP8 FRP Nada LG Awad at the end of August 2021, and will cost $ 179 in the US – around £ 130, AU $ 250 – although international prices have not been determined.
In the true wireless Earbud market which is very crowded, the price is somewhat higher than the average but still a significant amount of less than the other superior shoots of Apple and Sony. For reference, AirPods Pro comes at $ 249 / £ 249 / au $ 399, and Sony WF-1000xm4 costs $ 279 / £ 250 / au $ 449. That means LG offers many features the same as the cost fraction.
That is said, there are several cheaper options that also offer active noise cancellation and good sound quality that is worth mentioning. Among them is the Samsung Galaxy Sound 2 and defeat the studio buds – they are only a little cheaper and we feel that they offer almost the same value with LG Tone FP8.
Design
In terms of design, LG Tone FP8 borrowed several pointer from Apple AirPods Pro. Both sets of shoots using silicon ears that fit the ear canal by means of the shell that fits the ear extends to a small nub that flows outside the ear. Aesthetically there are many similarities – but not enough to make them replicate each other.
One thing that separates them is a choice of cases – AirPod Pro comes in a rectangular case with a rounded corner while LG Tone FP8 has a circular case. They are both small and fit in the pocket, but the LG case has one trick that Apple is not and that’s the ability to clean the Eartip between use with UV light.
According to LG, this case killed around 99.9% of bacteria in the Earbud among the use – which was rather entertaining if someone in your house, say a boyfriend, liked borrowing your earbud without telling you and never cleaned it and never gave them.
For us, shoots perfectly sized, they fit in the ear fitting and creating the perfect passive seal without effort at all. If you need a larger or smaller Eartip, LG includes both in the box, but we will bet most people must be fine with the middle couple attached.
Like the Earbud tone in front of him, the touch sensitive control of the FP8 is placed at the top of the ear stem; You can use this to rotate / pause your music, adjust the volume, answer phone calls, and activate ambient sound mode, which allows some environmental noise through buds – this is a practical feature if you need to adjust quickly to your environment.
